The physical performance team at the Adelaide Football Club is getting advice from all over the world to stay at the top of their game.

Renowned Dutch bio-mechanist Frans Bosch and distinguished US strength scientist Dr Greg Haff are two industry experts to visit West Lakes recently.

During their time at the Club the pair worked closely with Crows Physical Performance Manager Nick Poulos.

“It’s an absolute coup for the Club to be able to have such knowledgeable individuals visit,” Poulos said.

“It’s all about trying to learn as much as possible and being the best we can be.”

Bosch is a world-class sprints and jumps coach who has worked with Olympians as well as the English, Welsh and Japanese national rugby union teams and the successful 2013 British and Irish Lions tour of Australia.

Dr Haff is an award winning strength scientist who is currently the senior lecturer at Edith Cowan University in Western Australia and president of the US National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).

Bosch spent four days at the Club last week and Dr Haff visited in February.

Poulos said his physical performance team learnt a lot from both Bosch and Haff as well as world renowned exercise physiologist Martin Buchheit who also acts as a consultant to the Club.

“We are really happy with the direction we are heading at the Club and it is important for us to have a fresh set of eyes sometimes,” he said.

“Frans [Bosch] is big on movement efficiency and it’s an area he believes can be vastly improved in professional sport.”

“Anything that can help our guys get an edge over opponents is a good thing while always aiming to improve our high performance program and we are very fortunate to have had access to Martin Buchheit, Frans Bosch and Greg Haff”.
