The Gold Coast Suns will be without key tall Stephen May for Saturday’s clash with Adelaide.

May was charged with engaging in rough conduct against Brisbane skipper Tom Rockliff during the first quarter of the Q-Clash at Metricon Stadium on Saturday. The incident left Rockliff, who took no further part in the game, concussed.

May was offered a two-game ban with an early guilty plea, but chose to contest the charge at the AFL Tribunal. The Tribunal upheld the charge and May will now miss three games as a result.

It was further bad news for the Suns, who have suspended key trio Harley Bennell, Trent McKenzie and Brandon Matera for failing to meet team standards. Gold Coast also has a lengthy injury list, featuring first-choice players Gary Ablett, Jaeger O'Meara, David Swallow and Sam Day.
