Taylor Walker and Patrick Dangerfield were the only Crows to poll votes from the coaches at Spotless Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Walker kicked four goals without miss and took a game-high 11 marks against GWS. He also generated five inside 50ms and assisted in a goal in a strong performance up forward.

Dangerfield topped Adelaide’s possession count, with 27 disposals at 85.2 per cent efficiency. The game-breaking midfielder won a team-high eight clearances, laid five tackles and kicked a goal. He also took six marks, including five from opposition kicks.

Predictably, the red-hot Giants dominated the voting in the AFL Coaches Association Champion Player of the Year award.

Forwards Cam McCarthy (three) and Devon Smith (two) shared the remaining votes. McCarthy booted four goals from six marks, while Smith laid a game-high 10 tackles to go with 27 disposals and six inside 50ms.

Fremantle star and Brownlow Medal favourite Nat Fyfe stretched his lead at the top with maximum (10) votes in his 100th game on Saturday night. Fyfe is a remarkable 22 votes clear of the second-placed Dan Hannebery, who also polled 10 votes in Sydney’s win over reigning premiers Hawthorn.

Shiel is third on 42 votes, two ahead of Collingwood captain Scott Pendlebury who also scored a perfect 10 in his milestone match (200 games) on the weekend.

There were 10s handed out in seven of the nine games, with Geelong speedster Jordan Murdoch, West Coast midfielder Luke Shuey and Richmond spearhead Jack Riewoldt the other recipients. Eddie Betts is Adelaide’s best-placed player on 25 votes.
