Former Crows development player Bradley Merrett has been named the Round Nine SANFL Star Search nominee.
A member of the Club’s inaugural development squad, Merrett made his League debut with the SANFL Crows in Round Six last season against West Adelaide.
The speedy midfielder returned to his junior club Glenelg over the summer and has played seven Reserves matches as well as the past two League games with the Tigers.
Merrett impressed in Glenelg’s first win of the season on Sunday, collecting 15 possessions, three rebound 50ms and two clearances to win the latest Star Search nomination.
Adelaide’s Gene Robinson was nominated for the award in Round 11 last season and remains the only SANFL Crows player to be selected for the Star Search title.
Current Crows Rory Laird, Luke Brown, Mitch Grigg and development players Luke Carey, Brock Castree and Sam Pfeiffer have all been previously nominated while playing for other SANFL sides.
To be eligible, nominees must be 21 years old or younger on January 1, 2015. Nominees must have played no more than eight State League games at the start of the season. Suspended players are ineligible for nomination. AFL rookies are eligible for the award unless promoted to the senior list of their club.
