The Showdown Medal is presented to the player judged best afield in the Showdown.

Adelaide champion Mark Ricciuto, who won the first-ever medal in 2000, and former Power onballer Josh Francou hold the record for most Showdown Medals, having won three each.

Simon Goodwin claimed two during his decorated career and Crows ruckman Sam Jacobs also has two medals after dominating in Adelaide's last Showdown triumph in Round 15, 2014.

Goodwin and Port Adelaide's Shaun Burgoyne both received medals in the second Showdown of 2005, with the voting panel unable to split the duo for best-on-ground honours. This remains the only occasion where the award has been shared.

The medal wasn’t presented in Showdown matches between 1997-1999.
