Sam Jacobs has committed to the Adelaide Football Club until the end of 2019, signing a three-year contract extension.

The 27-year-old was already contracted for next season, and is now set to finish his career as a Crow after inking the new deal.

He’s played 122 AFL games, including 105 for Adelaide, since crossing from Carlton ahead of the 2011 season.

Jacobs joins key players Taylor Walker, Rory Sloane and Richard Douglas in recently committing long-term to the Club.

“I am really enjoying my football at the Crows and look forward to continuing my career at West Lakes,” Jacobs said.

“There is a very positive vibe at the Club and we have an exciting group of players working together to achieve success.”

Over the last few years Jacobs has established himself as one of the premier ruckmen in the competition.

Since 2012, Jacobs ranks No.2 in the AFL for hit-outs and hit-outs to advantage, while also gathering more disposals than any other ruckman.

The influential Crow, who is enjoying another consistent season, was included in the 2012 All Australian squad and has finished top five in the Club’s best and fairest award in two of the past three years.

Crows Head of Football David Noble said Jacobs is an integral member of the Crows midfield.

“Sam is a great competitor who more often than not gives our onballers first use of the football,” Noble said.

“He is one of our most consistent performers week-in, week-out and he epitomises professionalism and our Club’s team-first approach.”

The Crows ruck stocks have been shored up with Jacobs following promising young big man Reilly O’Brien in signing a contract extension in the last week.
