Fans have voted Eddie Betts’ checkside against Collingwood into second place in our RAA Goals of the Year countdown.

Betts nailed the banana from deep in the pocket at Etihad Stadium midway through the opening term of Adelaide’s clash with the Magpies.

The two-time Crows leading goalkicker pick pocketed the ball from Collingwood defender Alan Toovey with just centimetres to spare inside the boundary line.

Betts quickly sized up his target and worked the ball across his boot in a matter of seconds, despite close attention from Tom Langdon coming across his left flank.

The ball curled perfectly back through for the opening goal of the game and the first of what would be four AFL Goal of the Year nominations for the livewire Crow.
