Sam Jacobs’ blind ruck tap has been voted runner-up in our RAA Plays of the Year countdown.

The crafty Crow set up Rory Sloane with an inch-perfect tap over the back of his head from a centre bounce during Adelaide’s Round 17 clash with Gold Coast.

Jacobs fended off Zac Smith with his right arm, before knocking the ball with deft precision on left straight into the path of the 2013 Club Champion.

Sloane then ran unchallenged towards Adelaide’s forward 50 and spotted up Eddie Betts with a booming pass to the top of the goalsquare.

Betts was able to take a chest mark and kick a simple set shot to put Adelaide two goals ahead of the visitors heading towards half-time.

Similar to the third-placed RAA Play of the Year, the Suns were unable to get their hands on the ball at any stage during the passage of play.

The Crows kicked away in the second half to win the match by 45 points. Sam Jacobs had 39 hit-outs while Eddie Betts finished with three goals for the afternoon.

The play was ranked second out of seven choices in our RAA Plays of the Year poll. Over 650 fans had their say and voted for their favourite Crows play of Season 2015.
