Adelaide’s first-year players will be officially welcomed into the competition this week at the AFL Players’ Association Induction Camp in Melbourne.

Crows draftees Wayne Milera and Tom Doedee and new rookies Paul Hunter, Jonathon Beech, Hugh Greenwood and Alex Keath have been invited to the two-day camp at Etihad Stadium from Monday.

All 110 of the AFL’s new players will be briefed on various topics relevant to life in an elite sporting environment.

Agenda items include health and wellbeing, career development, financial education, branding, relationship building, illicit drugs, match fixing and anti-doping control.

The camp has been a central part of the AFL’s induction process for new players over the past 16 years.

AFL Players’ Association CEO Paul Marsh and dual premiership Hawk Brad Sewell kicked off the meet with a group address on Monday morning.
