New recruit Troy Menzel took control of our official Facebook account on Friday to answer a bunch of fan questions.

The forward revealed a famous Crow was his favourite player to watch as a child, and he named a few emerging players to keep an eye out for at West Lakes this year.

Recap some of Troy’s best answers below and don’t forget to like us on Facebook to take part more Q&A opportunities in the future.

Josh Molenaar: Reckon the nickname "fruchoc" might catch on there Menz?
Troy Menzel: Hi Josh, I have heard that name a couple of times thrown around but it has never stuck.

Daniel Harrold: What's the best part being back in Adelaide?
Troy Menzel: Hi Daniel, just being back home with family & friends ... And the traffic compared to Melbourne!

Julie Mac: Hi Troy welcome to the AFC family. From junior footy to AFL what is your favourite position you would like to play for the Crows?
Troy Menzel: Hi Julie, from my junior footy I've always played through the midfield and only started playing up forward the year I got drafted but would definitely love to push up through the midfield at some stage this year.

Harry Hodby: Hey who was your favourite player as a kid.
Troy Menzel: Hi Harry, growing up I used to love watching Andrew McLeod play.

Simon Farrugia: Who has impressed you the most at the club from the guys on the 2015 list and also out of the 9 other new players to the club?
Troy Menzel: Hi Simon, one guy that has really impressed me from the 2015 list is Rory Atkins, his willingness to improve is something that has really stood out and from the new players, I would say Wayne Milera has a lot of talent and has impressed me.

Cara McClounan: Do you think we will hit the ground running this year? Are you looking forward to being in the middle of the Crows/power rivalry?
Troy Menzel: Hi Cara, we have had a very solid pre season with a lot of the boys being able to get through without any injuries so we are giving ourselves the best chance to hit the ground running. I'm very excited at the opportunity to play in a Showdown and hopefully we can get the win over Port in Round Two.

NicoleandJayden Rogers: G’day Menz. What can you do to convince your brother to come to the crows as well? A Menzel each side of big tex sounds good to me!
Troy Menzel: Hi Nicole, it would be awesome if we were able to somehow get him back to Adelaide but i think thats a fair way off at the moment, he's really enjoying his footy down at the Geelong.

Alex Houston: Would you rather fight a Rory Laird sized Tex Walker or 2 Tex Walker sized Rory Lairds?
Troy Menzel: Hi Alex, it's an interesting one, I would probably have to say the Rory Laird sized Tex Walker, just to give myself the size advantage.

Annie MacRae: Hi there, who has had the most influence on your playing career?
Troy Menzel: Hi Annie, two big influences on my playing career would be my brother Daniel and my old forward line coach at Carlton Brad Green.
