Adelaide’s two top goalkickers from last season led the Club’s Fantasy scoring in the Round One loss to North Melbourne.

Captain Taylor Walker was our best performer with 94 Fantasy points from 18 possessions and 10 marks.

‘Tex’ also kicked two goals, but could’ve had an even bigger Fantasy pay day if he had converted another three scoring opportunities. Despite his missed chances, it was still an encouraging start for the skipper, who is sure to post some big scores once he rights his radar in front of goal.

Eddie Betts wasn’t far behind on 91 points, but was also wasteful with three behinds and just the one goal.

However, Betts’ pressure against the Kangaroos was outstanding. Much of his Fantasy score came from his eight tackles, netting him 32 points alone. Like Walker, expect Betts to bounce back and post several massive totals over the course of the season.

By the Numbers: Round One

Rory Laird made a solid start to his Fantasy season with a handy 90.

Last year’s Club Champion runner-up regularly found space across half-back to rack up 24 touches and nine marks in his Fantasy-friendly role.

Pre-season Fantasy gun Matt Crouch added some cash to his coaches’ coffers with an 82-point performance from 23 possessions and three marks.

He’s been a popular selection so far in this season’s Fantasy competition, and thousands of coaches would’ve breathed a collective sigh of relief following Monday’s Match Review Panel decision.

Crouch is still priced under $400k, so don’t miss his inevitable price rise in the coming rounds.

Brother Brad is a tad more expensive at $418,000, but showed enough with a 87 from 20 touches and a team-high nine tackles. He’ll be better for the run, with Saturday night’s contest his first AFL outing since the final round of 2014.

First-gamers Mitch McGovern (52) and Wayne Milera Jnr (32) are other underpriced Crows to keep a watchful eye over. McGovern in particular remains a bargain ($138,000) having already added $13k to his starting value.
