North Melbourne has regained captain Andrew Swallow and fellow hard nut Ben Cunnington for Thursday night’s blockbuster against Adelaide.

Swallow missed North’s loss to Hawthorn due to concussion while Cunnington has overcome a quad injury.

But the Kangaroos have lost star onballer Daniel Wells and defender Luke McDonald to injury, while key forward Jarrad Waite will spend another week on the sidelines.

Wells and Waite both failed a fitness test ahead of the clash at Adelaide Oval. South Australian Wells sustained an ankle injury in last Friday night's loss to the Hawks, but has been withdrawn from this week's side due to a calf complaint. Waite aggravated a hip injury the previous week against Geelong.
