Sam Jacobs and Taylor Walker both face fitness tests ahead of Saturday night’s clash with the Brisbane Lions.

Jacobs, 28, was forced from the ground early in the second quarter of Adelaide’s win over Essendon on Sunday after rolling his left ankle. The ruckman took no further part in the game as a precaution.

Crows General Manager of High Performance Brett Burton said the initial prognosis was positive.

“It’s obviously only early still … but it was relatively minor,” he said.

“We’ll assess him during the week and, hopefully, he’ll be a chance to play this weekend.”

Walker, who is also nursing a minor ankle injury, missed the 82-point win over the Bombers.

Burton said the Crows captain was making good progress in his recovery.

“Tex trained well over the weekend,” Burton said.

“We’ll ramp up his (training) loads during the week and, hopefully, he’ll be a chance to play too.”

Wingman/defender Ricky Henderson was also sidelined on the weekend.

Like Walker, Henderson will need to prove he’s overcome a sore Achilles at training this week.

Rookie-listed forward Keenan Ramsey will require further assessment on an ankle injury sustained in the Club’s come-from-behind SANFL win over the Port Magpies.

In positive news, Sam Shaw (concussion), Troy Menzel (concussion) and Luke Lowden (hamstring) all made successful comebacks at Alberton on Sunday. Adelaide’s SANFL team has a bye this round.

Defender Andy Otten (thumb) is expected to be available next weekend, while Nathan van Berlo (foot) and young forwards Riley Knight (ankle) should return from long-term injuries in a fortnight.
