Paul Seedsman and Luke Lowden are late withdrawals from Adelaide’s historic SANFL final.

Seedsman (corked buttock) and Lowden (ankle) were both named in the extended squad on Thursday night, but the Club has opted to take a conservative approach with the pair.

Crows General Manager High Performance Brett Burton said Seedsman wasn’t quite ready to return.

“We wanted to give Paul every chance to play, but after missing three weeks with that corked buttock we didn’t want to rush him back in either,” Burton said.

“We feel that he will benefit from an extra week on the training track and, hopefully, be available for selection after that.”

Lowden, who has also spent a few weeks on the sidelines, should be available next week.

On Thursday night, Cam Ellis-Yolmen, Nathan van Berlo and Tom Doedee were recalled for the Club’s knockout clash with Central District.

Midfielder Ellis-Yolmen received permission from the SANFL to play in accordance with the League’s eligibility rules. One of the Magarey Medal contenders, Ellis-Yolmen has played 16 SANFL games this season but his last match was at AFL level against West Coast.

Van Berlo also bolsters the side after he was a late withdrawal from last week’s loss to South Adelaide due to a foot complaint.

Young defender Doedee was another a late out from last week’s clash with the Panthers. Doedee has overcome a rib sprain and has been named at full-back.

Rory Sloane and Brodie Smith, who were eligible for selection despite not playing at State League level all season, were not considered for this week’s SANFL game. Players eligible for SANFL finals
