Young Crows fan Jackson Coaby is full of gratitude thanks to the Club’s school’s program which visited him and his fellow students at Madison Park Primary recently.
As the overall winner of the program’s Guernsey design competition, Jackson had the opportunity to attend the Round 23 match against West Coast at Adelaide Oval and join the on-ground Guard of Honour.
The Year 3 student was also presented with his own Guernsey signed by the current squad.
Jackson’s Guernsey design was inspired by his father who is Indigenous and a huge fan of Eddie Betts.
It details the spectators, players and the long journey of the season with various Aboriginal symbols.
More than 500 students from across South Australia have entered the competition which is run as part of the Growing with Gratitude schools program.
Teacher Cory Selfe said he was impressed by hard work Jackson put into the project.
“The students really enjoyed the Growing with Gratitude program – they got a lot out of the content and of course meeting Claude the Crow was a real highlight,” Selfe said.
“It was so pleasing to see how much work and determination Jackson and all of our students put into the Guernsey design competition. Jackson has been walking on clouds ever since and now has amazing lifelong memories of the Club.”
The Crows’ Growing with Gratitude program aims to improve the mental health, thoughts and habits of primary school children, developing an attitude of gratitude by promoting kindness, mindfulness and happiness. This year it will visit more than 200 schools across South Australia.
