The medium defenders list includes 11 players and features two Under-18 All-Australians from South Australia, Alex Villis and Sam Walker. A further 14 medium defenders will be tested at the State Draft Combines to be held in Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth.
Eighty players will attend the 2016 NAB AFL Draft Combine in Melbourne at Etihad Stadium from Thursday October 6 to Sunday October 9.
A further 100 players will attend State Combines in Melbourne (October 9), Adelaide (October 15) and Perth (October 16).

Medium defender/midfielder with good speed and agility who uses the ball exceptionally well by hand and foot. Had an impressive performance for South Australia in the NAB AFL Under-18 Championships, averaging 15 disposals and winning All-Australian honours. Has already progressed to senior level with Norwood in the SANFL.
Sam Walker Glenelg / South Gambier
16.3.1998 Height: 187cm Weight: 80kg
Medium defender who provided consistent rebound for his team throughout the NAB AFL Under-18 Championships and excelled one on one .Excellent user of the ball by hand and foot averaging 14.5 disposals at 86 percent efficiency and five contested possessions winning All-Australian honours.

Tall defender/midfield/forward who is a prolific ball-winner with elite footy smarts. Sets the play up from defence with his creative hands and vision. Averaged 15.2 disposals for Vic Metro in the NAB AFL Under-18 Championships.
Bailey Morrish Dandenong Stingrays / Beaconsfield / Hallam SC
18.5.1998 Height: 186cm Weight: 76kg
Medium defender who uses the ball well on his preferred left foot and shows dash from defence. In his first year in the TAC Cup with Stingrays and has averaged 13 disposals and 3.5 rebounds in 16 matches.

Medium defender/ midfielder with neat disposal skills and is a smart decision maker. Shows dash from defence and has overcome ACL injury last year and lower back issues earlier in the year to return to Bushies in last six weeks. Averaged 15.5 disposals over last two years in TAC Cup.

Skilful medium defender/midfielder who can break games open with his speed. Shows good awareness and footy smarts and is a prolific ball-winner for the North Ballarat Rebels. Represented Vic Country in the NAB AFL Under-18 Championships this year.

Medium defender who is a long penetrating kick, has clean hands and wins his own ball. Has good speed and a neat step through traffic. Suffered a leg injury that disrupted his season but is making a full recovery. Member of the NAB AFL Academy.

Versatile medium defender/forward who had an outstanding representative year, winning Most Valuable Player awards for NSW/ACT (Division Two) and then the Allies (Division One) in the NAB AFL Under-18 Championships. Super-competitive and strong overhead and a good user of the ball, he averaged 16 disposal for the Allies and achieved All-Australian honours.
Isaac Cumming Broken Hill / GWS Giants Academy
11.8.1998 Height: 183cm Weight: 72kg
Medium defender with good closing speed and ball-winning ability. Represented NSW/ACT and the Allies in the NAB AFL Under-18 Championships, using the ball effectively by hand and foot. Also played Under 18s at North Adelaide this year and represented the GWS Giants in the NEAFL.

Nineteen-year-old defender who attacks the ball with real purpose and has excellent speed. His 22 disposal game for Northern Territory versus NSW/ACT was impressive, as was his game for the Allies vs Vic Country. Also played in the VFL with Footscray late this year.
