Greater Western Sydney will unveil No.2 draft pick Tim Taranto against the Crows in Sunday’s Round One clash at Adelaide Oval.

Taranto impressed in the JLT Community Series and played all three games for the club against West Coast, Sydney and North Melbourne.

The tough 19-year-old averaged 17 possessions and over five tackles per game across the pre-season competition, playing mainly as a permanent forward, but also showed plenty while spending time in the midfield, where his quick hands and poise in traffic stood out.

He also earned plenty of respect for his courage after kicking a brilliant goal against the Swans, just minutes after he was ironed out in a brutal accidental clash with superstar Sydney forward Lance Franklin.

Taranto is understood to be the club's only Round One debutant for the clash with the Crows.

Match Preview: Crows v Giants

Former Fremantle midfielder Tendai Mzungu could make his first appearance for his new club after being upgraded from the rookie list last Friday.

Mzungu's experience could be useful for GWS coach Leon Cameron with vice-captain Stephen Coniglio (ankle), Brett Deledio (calf) and another former Docker Matt de Boer (hamstring) all out injured.

Young defender Harry Himmelberg, the older brother of Crows draftee Elliott, could also be selected to give more height to the team with Aidan Corr (hand) already ruled out.
