Crows midfielder Brad Crouch has spoken about how he’s learnt to stay positive over the past few years despite numerous injuries, during an exclusive interview on Sunday’s episode of The Crows Show.

Crouch, who is closing in on a return to playing after a pre-season hamstring injury, has managed just 41 games since his debut in 2013.

“It’s definitely easy to get negative about it and definitely over the past couple of years there’s been times where I’ve been very negative and very frustrated and couldn’t understand why it’s happening to me,” Crouch said.

“I’m at the stage now where I put things in place and I just try and stay positive as I can and I know I’ve got a big role to play in the footy club this year.”

Crouch is expected to play in the Crows’ SANFL Round One clash against Sturt and feels confident in his body.

“One thing for me is probably the experience I’ve had with injuries, I’ve been through a lot and I do know how to deal with disappointment. I’m at a stage now where I think I can come back a lot stronger,” he said.

“It’s been seven or eight weeks since I’ve had another hiccup and I’m now feeling very confident in it and it’s starting to come good and I’m starting to get ready to play footy.

“As long as I’m playing footy I’m happy and I get back to my best before I play AFL.”

The 23-year-old recently signed a long-term contract extension and is keen to repay the faith the Club has shown in him.

“I’m going to be here for four years and I just want to be a part of success, I want to be part of a strong culture and a strong footy club,” he said.

“The best way of doing that is being out there playing with the boys and I can’t wait to get back out there.”
