Forward Tom Lynch will be given until late in the week to prove he’s recovered from a concussion.

Lynch was concussed when he was tackled to the ground by North Melbourne forward Jarrad Waite in the second quarter at Blundstone Arena on Saturday. He didn’t take any further part in the game.

Crows General Manager of High Performance Matt Hass said Lynch was in good spirits.

“He (Lynch) has presented really well early in the week,” he said.

“We’ll follow our concussion protocol. Basically, that means he’ll commence some light running today and train, hopefully, with the team in a non-contact situation on Wednesday.

“He’ll need to pass a concussion test on Friday to declare him fit to play.”

In positive news, defenders Kyle Cheney and Alex Keath will return to full training this week.

Cheney and Keath, who have been sidelined with hamstring injuries, are yet to play a game for premiership points at either level this season.

“Being a SANFL bye this week, they (Cheney and Keath) will get the opportunity to again train fully with the team next week and be available in AFL Round Nine (SANFL Round Six).”

Promising goalkicker Mitch McGovern is also progressing well in his recovery from injury.

McGovern suffered a serious hamstring tear against Port Adelaide in Round Three.

“Mitch has been re-introduced to some football skills and running,” Hass said.

“As planned, we expect him back mid-season.”

Last week, coach Don Pyke said wingman Paul Seedsman was also expected to return mid-year.

Seedsman is still recovering from a nagging pre-season groin complaint.

"He's had a few ups and downs in his return," Pyke said.

"It's hard to put an exact time on it so I don't want to commit to a time, but he's making good progress as he flows through his recovery program.

"Hopefully, around the middle of the season we'll see him playing some footy.”
