Injury Update: Round 12

June 6, 2017 10:54 AM

Dr Jones & Partners Injury Update: June 6 Crows GM of High Performance Matt Hass gives an update on the health of the Crows list.
The prognosis for Browny is that we expect him back shortly after the (Round 13) bye.

Adelaide defender Luke Brown has been ruled out of Friday night’s clash with St Kilda.

Brown suffered a fractured cheekbone after an accidental knock to the face against Geelong.

Crows General Manager of High Performance Matt Hass said Brown would miss 2 – 4 weeks.

“Unfortunately, Browny received a knee in the cheekbone in the Geelong match,” Hass said.

“After investigation, it showed that there was a little crack in there that required surgery.

“The prognosis for Browny is that we expect him back shortly after the (Round 13) bye.”

It’s better news for fellow defender Jake Lever, who is set to take on the Saints on Friday night.

Lever rolled his ankle late in Adelaide’s loss to the Cats, but has escaped serious damage.

“Fortunately, it’s quite a minor one (sprain),” Hass said

“He (Lever) will train either with the main group today (Tuesday) or on his own tomorrow and we expect him to play this weekend.”

Forward Mitch McGovern and wingman Paul Seedsman are also available for selection after recovering from long-term injuries.

Seedsman hasn’t played a game at any level this season because of lingering groin soreness, while McGovern has been sidelined since tearing his hamstring in the Round Three Showdown.

Hass said the pair was likely to return in the Club’s SANFL clash with Norwood on Saturday.

“The boys (McGovern and Seedsman) have done an absolute mountain of work in recent times and have gotten themselves in really good shape,” Hass said.

“It’s really good news for the Club and we’re excited to see them back this weekend.”

Midfielder Curtly Hampton is hoping for a late-season return from a serious ankle injury.

Draftee Ben Davis is also aiming to play late in the year, while Cam Ellis-Yolmen has started running in his rehabilitation from a knee reconstruction.
