Hugh Greenwood has been nominated for Goal of the Year for his incredible volley goal against Geelong on Friday night.

In the opening quarter of the clash, Brodie Smith bombed a long ball to the top of the goal square where a pack formed and the Sherrin was knocked forward by Cats defenders.

Enter an opportunistic Greenwood.

20 metres from goal, the former basketballer demonstrated his soccer prowess by making connection with the ball in mid-air on his non-preferred right foot, seeing it go straight through the middle to mark goal number five for the Crows.

“Greenwood’s a basketballer, not a soccer player, is he?,” quipped commentator Brian Taylor after the play.
