Crows Supporter Group stalwart Annie Green has been recognised for her dedication to the Club with the 2017 AFL Fans Association’s Female Fan of the Year award.

Since joining the Crows Supporters Group committee this year, Green has displayed exceptional commitment and dedication.

She arranged, planned and oversaw many barbecues for the Club, its partners and fans, at community football carnivals and open training sessions.

She was charged with planning many social events, including the Crows Supporter Group’s annual fundraising event for 150 people, and was also integral in the organisation of Crows supporter buses to travel to Melbourne.

In addition, Green missed the last quarter of every Crows home match this season to set up a raffle in the Magarey Room at Adelaide Oval, a huge sacrifice for anyone who is footy-mad!

Green was “in shock” when told of her award.

“I certainly am not a one man show and I could not have done all I have done without the support of the committee and other Crows Supporter Group members,” she said.

Crows CEO Andrew Fagan congratulated Green on receiving the honour and also acknowledged the Club's wider supporter base.

"Our Members and supporters are among the most passionate in Australian sport and it is great to see Annie officially recognised. Since joining the Club, I have been amazed and appreciative of their loyalty and commitment,” Fagan said.

Green’s award follows in the footsteps of Crows Supporter Group member Robert Smith who won the Male Fan of the Year in 2016.
