Adelaide has further bolstered its midfield stocks by securing Sam Gibson from North Melbourne.

Gibson joins the Crows in exchange for pick No.91 in this year’s AFL National Draft.

The hard-running wingman finished equal sixth in the Kangaroos’ best and fairest this year.

Gibson hasn’t missed a game since his debut in 2012, and holds the AFL’s active record for consecutive games played (130).

Crows General Manager List Management and Strategy Justin Reid said the 31-year-old had plenty to offer at AFL level.

“Having started his AFL career at 25, Sam is still relatively young in football terms,” Reid said.

“His professionalism and work ethic is well known around the competition and he will add flexibility to our midfield group.

“Sam is excited to continue his career in Adelaide and we look forward to what he will bring to our playing squad.”

Gibson follows Carlton star Bryce Gibbs in joining the Crows in the trade period.
