Adelaide will hold an intraclub hit-out at Football Park on Saturday March 3, with coach Don Pyke confirming the fixture following his side's 10-point win over Fremantle in the JLT Community Series on Sunday.

With just two full pre-season games in 2018, compared to three in previous years, Pyke said he was ‘keen to have another solid hit-out’ ahead of the Club’s final JLT clash with Port Adelaide in a fortnight.

The intraclub game will be open to the public, with details to be confirmed during the week.

Pyke is likely to roll out a number of first-choice players who missed the opening JLT game, including Rory Sloane, Eddie Betts, Richard Douglas and defenders Daniel Talia and Kyle Hartigan.

“We’re going to have a game next week, so we’ll play next Saturday morning,” he said.

“We’ll have an intraclub game, which we’ll open up to fans and members. It’s an opportunity for them to come and have a look.

“The way it worked out with our prep after the AFLX, we did some match sim the following Saturday but I think we need another run.

“The importance is that we get guys who didn’t play today, and that’s Kyle, Daniel, Rory, Eddie, Richie Douglas, an opportunity to play a full game before we have our final JLT.”
