Adelaide will blood two debutants in the Club’s season opener against Essendon at Etihad Stadium on Friday night.
Defender Tom Doedee and first-year forward Darcy Fogarty will appear at AFL senior level for the first time against the Bombers, with coach Don Pyke confirming their selections on Triple M’s Rush Hour on Tuesday afternoon.
Doedee was a first-round draft selection in the 2015 AFL National Draft (No. 17 overall), with the athletic defender recently completing his first pre-season at the Club.
“This is Tom’s third year and he’s had a full pre-season and we’ve seen in the JLT the sort of player we hoped he was going to be when we drafted him," Pyke said.
“He’s put some solid work in and it’s a great return for effort.”
Fogarty was Adelaide’s first pick (No. 12 overall) in last year’s AFL National Draft, with the 18-year-old impressing in the Crows’ second JLT Community Series game against Port Adelaide where he booted three first-half goals.
