AFL fans across the nation will need tune to 7mate – free-to-air channel 73 – to watch games for the next two weeks.

The broadcasts won't be in high definition either, as Seven turns its primary HD Channel over to the Commonwealth Games from the Gold Coast.

The first of the games affected will be Friday night's Carlton-Collingwood blockbuster at the MCG.

Other games vary depending on which state you're in.

Seven is scheduled as the host broadcaster for six games over the next fortnight.

Seven's wraparound AFL programming is also impacted, with Sunday morning show Game Day taking a two-week hiatus and Monday night panel show Talking Footy rested for a week.

The Crows Show will also take a two-week break, returning on Sunday April 22.

All AFL matches will continue to screen as normal on Fox Footy and Telstra's AFL Live App.
