Rory Laird has earned a second consecutive selection in Kane Cornes’ Team of the Week on AFL.com.au.

Laird, who collected 40 disposals in Round One, had a career-high 42 touches in Adelaide’s win over Richmond to go with nine marks, eight rebound 50s, seven inside 50s and a whopping 814 metres gained.

The All Australian defender is one of four players to back up his Round One gong, with Stephen Coniglio (GWS), Dustin Martin (Richmond) and Tom Mitchell (Hawthorn) the others.

Laird is one of three Crows in the side, with Rory Sloane named on a wing and Josh Jenkins in a forward pocket.

Sloane was inspirational for the Crows on Thursday night, battling through a strained foot for most of the game to record 25 disposals (15 contested), seven tackles and two crucial goals.

Meantime, Jenkins was the dominant player on the ground in the first half, booting four goals on 2017 All Australian captain Alex Rance.

The key forward finished the game with five majors.

Adelaide was one of three teams with three players selected, along with Geelong and North Melbourne.
