Forward Eddie Betts has been ruled out of Adelaide’s clash with the Sydney Swans on Friday night.

Betts suffered a minor hamstring injury in the Club’s loss to Collingwood last week.

GM of High Performance Matt Hass said the four-time Crows leading goalkicker was advanced in his rehabilitation.

“He’s commenced running already and is progressing really well,” Hass said.

“We expect him to miss, maybe, two weeks.”

Wingman David Mackay and rookie Lachlan Murphy both face fitness tests ahead of the trip to Sydney.

Mackay sustained his second concussion of the season against the Magpies and will be assessed accordingly.

“Unfortunately for ‘Dmac’, he got a knock to the head. He was taken off and assessed by the doctors,” Hass said.

“It’s obviously his second head knock in three weeks, so we’ll take a pretty cautious approach.

“He’ll follow the concussion protocol and be a ‘test’ for this week.”

After playing the opening three games of the season, Murphy missed the game against Collingwood after pulling up sore at training last week.

“He (Murphy) has trained this week,” Hass said.

“He had a little bit of hammy tightness, so we took a cautious approach being a first-year (player).”

Midfielder Matt Crouch is progressing well from a hamstring injury sustained in Adelaide’s Round Three win over St Kilda.

Unfortunately, Sam Gibson (hamstring) and Alex Keath (ankle) will be sidelined for a while longer.

Gibson has endured persistent back-related hamstring symptoms, which have extended his rehabilitation. Keath’s ankle has taken longer to settle because of associated bone bruising.

The Club continues to take a conservative approach with Brad Crouch and Andrew McPherson, who are recovering from groin soreness.
