Richmond has made two changes for Friday night’s clash with Adelaide at the MCG.

Reece Conca (ankle) and Nick Vlastuin (suspension) are out, with young talents Corey Ellis and Callum Moore returning. Ellis has not been named in the Richmond side since they lost to the Crows in Round Two.

Tall forward Moore has played five games for the Tigers.

Richmond coach Damien Hardwick said the Adelaide side they face this week is similar to the team from earlier in the season.

"I think we know how they play. The side that we played in round two is pretty much the side we'll be playing this week as well,” he said.

"They gave us a real touch-up around the contested ball, their games are always highly contested and that's the way they play, and we're looking to embrace that and challenge ourselves a little bit more in that part of the game this time as compared to last time.”

Hardwick believes the Tigers can flip the result on Adelaide with a strong defensive unit.

"We look forward to our overall team defence having a better result this week versus them,” Hardwick said.

"Quality players at stages will jump up and perform … but we're very confident with our defenders they'll be able to get the job done.

"Alex is one of the best players I've ever seen, so I expect him to have a really good game this week."
