Adelaide’s crushing SANFL win over the Port Magpies on Sunday was Matthew Signorello’s first taste of victory in over 11 months.

After losing the final three rounds of the 2017 season, the SANFL Crows have struggled this year and were winless for the first 13 rounds of the State League season.

That makes their 56-point win in the Showdown, on the back to a 10-goal final term, even more special.

“I’m pretty happy with it to be honest, I haven’t won in a while,” Signorello said.

“I actually haven’t won since about Round 16 last year, so it’s pretty good to get the win under the belt.

“The team has been battling every week and we’ve been trying our best to get the win, so it’s pretty good that it paid off eventually.”

Signorello played an important part in the win, gathering 19 disposals with six tackles, five clearances and five marks.

He also kicked two goals, including one in the all-important first term where the Crows finished on top despite kicking against the strong wind.

Signorello has strung together a number of good games in the middle of the year, including being his side’s best player against Glenelg in Round Seven.

Working on the fundamentals has been a priority for the 19-year-old, who is looking for consistency across the last five rounds.

“Majority of what I’ve been working on is skills, kicking and ball take, on the ground and in the air,” he said.

“I’m hoping for a couple more wins in the SANFL and to come home strongly at the end of the year.”
