Crows captain Taylor Walker has revealed he will not challenge the two-week suspension he was handed following his side’s 14-point loss to GWS on Saturday night.

The skipper was given the two-week ban for rough conduct and will now sit out the remainder of Adelaide’s 2018 season after his tackle on Giant Josh Kelly left the midfielder knocked out.

“It's disappointing but that’s just the way the rules go," Walker told Roo & Ditts on Tuesday morning.

"I'm not going to challenge it - it probably sums up my season. It's been very challenging for me individually and us as a footy team.

"I'll just cop it. My body's crying out for a bit of rest at the moment so it gives opportunity for someone else to play the last two games."

Speaking on Triple M Adelaide, Walker said it all happened so quickly.

“I remember getting in the motion and thinking it could be a sling tackle, so I let him go,” he said.

“But they (the AFL) are so protective of the head and if the consequence is they (the player) are knocked out or hit their head then you’re in trouble.”
