In his first season at senior level, Tom Doedee has joined a long-list of Club greats as this year’s recipient of the Mark Bickley Emerging Talent Award.

Picked up at No.17 in the 2015 AFL draft, the impressive defender spent his first two years in the system biding his time in the Club’s SANFL side.

The 21-year-old finally received his chance in Round One this year and hasn’t looked back.

Playing 19 of 22 games, he averaged 18 disposals, 5.6 marks (2.2 intercepts) and 3.2 rebound 50s.

In just his second game of AFL, the high-flying defender was handed an AFL Rising Star nomination and finished on the podium behind Collingwood’s Jaidyn Stephenson.

Doedee has been a shining light amidst the Crows’ challenging season and an exciting prospect for the year ahead.

He leads the side for intercept marks (43) and rundown tackles, and is ranked second at the Club for intercept possessions (115) and spoils (86).

The 21-year-old was integral in Adelaide’ Round Five win over Sydney, collecting 25 disposals and 11 marks.

He was named in the AFL Players’ Association 22under22 team for 2018 on Thursday.

Doedee has not been a stranger to highlight packages this year, providing numerous spectacular moments including his first AFL goal in Round 15 against West Coast.

He joins Brett Burton, Ben Rutten, Graham Johncock and current players Rory Sloane, Daniel Talia, Matt Crouch and Wayne Milera Junior as recipients of the award.
