Crows captain Taylor Walker said he was heartened by West Coast’s 2018 AFL premiership victory which came three years after the Eagles suffered heartbreak in the 2015 decider.

Twelve months after Adelaide’s 2017 grand final loss to Richmond, Walker sees clear parallels between the reigning premiers and his own side.

“It’s a great story for West Coast,” Walker told reporters at Adelaide Oval’s golf launch on Wednesday.

“If we can take anything out of that then there’s light at the end of the tunnel for our footy club.

“They’ve gone back three years later, and they’ve won it so hopefully we can do the same.”

Walker said young small forward Tyson Stengle, who nominated Adelaide as his club of choice earlier this week, would ‘be a great addition if we can get the deal done’.

He also hoped the Crows could get ‘the best deal for us’ in trade discussions with Carlton for contracted forward Mitch McGovern.
