New co-captain Rory Sloane has had a memorable start to 2019, adding Crows Life Member to his long list of career accolades.

The 28-year-old was one of four to receive Life Membership at the Club’s Corporate Season Launch on Thursday night.

Since being selected with pick No.44 in the 2008 National Draft, Sloane has played 177 games for the Crows.

He won Adelaide’s Club Champion award for the first time in 2013 and again in 2016, the same year he was named vice-captain of the All Australian team.

In 2016, he was also named AFLPA MVP runner-up, AFLCA Player of the Year runner-up, and finished fourth in the Brownlow with 24 votes.

During his time at the Club, he has also picked up three Coaches’ Awards, three Best Team Man Awards and the Dr Brian Sando Trophy for his resilience and professionalism.

In 2018, the midfielder became a Crow for life when he signed a five-year contract extension.

Versatile team man Andy Otten was also awarded Life Membership.

The 29-year-old has spent 11 seasons with the Crows, taking out the Emerging Talent Award in 2009 and the Coaches’ Award in 2013.

His resilience was put to the test during his time at the Club as he endured two knee reconstructions, the second of which kept him out of the senior side for 960 days between 2014 and 2017.

In 2018, he played his 100th AFL game - nine years and 317 days after his AFL debut.

Also receiving Life Membership was Alan Stewart, who spent 13 years as a Senior Recruitment Officer at Adelaide, before announcing his retirement in 2017.

The renowned mentor started his football career back in 1966 as a player at the Central District Football Club and went on to also play the role of coach, recruiter and administrator for the Bulldogs.

In 2018, he was honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award from the AFL Coaches' Association for his invaluable contribution to the game.

Rob Reid, who played a key role in recruiting both Sloane and Otten, also became a Life Member.

A former full-time teacher, Reid is the longest serving recruiting coordinator in the Club’s history.

Criteria for Adelaide Football Club Life Membership is 10 years of service at the discretion of the Board.
