Adelaide has representation in Kane Cornes’ AFL.com.au Team of the Week for the first time since Round 11, with defender Rory Laird and captain Taylor Walker named in the 22.

Laird added composure and polish to the Crows’ back half in his return from injury, collecting 32 disposals at 87.5 per cent efficiency, while Walker was instrumental in his side’s come-from-behind victory over West Coast.

Walker finished with season-highs in disposals (22), marks (10) and contested marks (4), ending the evening with three goals from seven scoring shots.

“It was a poor first half for Adelaide captain Taylor Walker but he stood up when it mattered and deserved a spot in my round 15 Team of the Week,” Cornes wrote.

“He wasted the football in the first half and made poor decisions but after the main break, the skipper was massive.”

The Round 15 selection was Laird’s fifth of the season, while Walker earned his second Team of the Week spot.

Essendon and Richmond both had three players in the team.
