Collingwood midfielder Taylor Adams and gun forward Jamie Elliott won't be available after suffering hamstring strains at training on Wednesday.

Adams didn't take part in any of the match simulation in the second half of the session and instead appeared to undergo a running and kicking fitness test.

He didn't look entirely comfortable as he finished up well before his teammates and was later seen sporting a compression bandage on his left upper leg.

Elliott's return to the AFL side will be delayed by at least a week, with the talented forward also leaving the track early.

Coach Nathan Buckley admitted the sharpshooter was sore after kicking five goals in the VFL on Saturday and initially believed Adams had a tight back.

But scans have revealed minor hamstring strains, with their return dates to full training to be determined in the coming week.

The Pies are facing a tough task against the Crows on Friday night at a venue where they haven't won in four attempts.
