It’s a testament to the players. We spoke about it just then in the match review how Adelaide came hard in the third quarter, won that quarter and got within I think 16 points. [Daniel Rioli] He was good. That tackle I think exemplified what he’s about in that last quarter with [Rory] Laird where the game’s probably over but he still keeps going.

We obviously came to every game thinking we’re going to win. Every coach is going to be the same. I think the great thing is I’ve got a great belief in our players that if we play a certain way we’re going to get a result most times.
I’m really proud of the effort… Adelaide Crows are just starting to get their game back up again. They’re a tough outfit so it’s a good win versus a good side.
On improvement
I’m a coach, there’s always room for improvement. We didn’t use the ball particularly well inside 50 tonight, especially in the first three quarters and that gave me a bit of grief in the box at various stages. We’re normally one of the better scoring sides inside 50 but the Crows managed to get some numbers back and we just couldn’t quite
