On denying a potential late comeback…

It’s a testament to the players. We spoke about it just then in the match review how Adelaide came hard in the third quarter, won that quarter and got within I think 16 points. Our guys have just got the ability to raise the fight and go again. I thought we had some good standout players… Dustin [Martin] was a bit fumbly early but then he started to get his game up and going. Alex Rance was terrific tonight as well. Every player had a moment tonight.

[Daniel Rioli] He was good. That tackle I think exemplified what he’s about in that last quarter with [Rory] Laird where the game’s probably over but he still keeps going.

On a record run at the ‘G

We obviously came to every game thinking we’re going to win. Every coach is going to be the same. I think the great thing is I’ve got a great belief in our players that if we play a certain way we’re going to get a result most times.

I’m really proud of the effort… Adelaide Crows are just starting to get their game back up again. They’re a tough outfit so it’s a good win versus a good side.

On improvement

I’m a coach, there’s always room for improvement. We didn’t use the ball particularly well inside 50 tonight, especially in the first three quarters and that gave me a bit of grief in the box at various stages. We’re normally one of the better scoring sides inside 50 but the Crows managed to get some numbers back and we just couldn’t quite equalise those numbers.
