Returning defender Kyle Hartigan has been recognised in the AFL's Team of the Week for the first time since Round Three.

Hartigan, 25, was rewarded for his outstanding role on West Coast spearhead Josh Kennedy at Domain Stadium on Sunday.

In Hartigan’s first AFL game since Round 15, the key backman held the gun goalkicker to just one major despite Adelaide’s loss to the Eagles.

He earned the full-back position in the final Team of the Week of the home and away season.

All Australian nominee Matt Crouch capped off a career-best season by joining Hartigan in this week’s side.

The prolific onballer amassed a career-best 45 disposals, including five inside 50ms, four clearances and a goal. Crouch also laid seven tackles, second only to teammate Rory Sloane for the Crows on Sunday.

It’s Crouch’s fifth Team of the Week nod of the year in another illustration of his consistent 2017 season.

Essendon led the way with four representatives in this week’s side ahead of Collingwood and Richmond with three players apiece. Adelaide, Geelong and Sydney featured two players with the Western Bulldogs, Hawthorn, North Melbourne, West Coast, Fremantle and Port Adelaide having one representative each.
