While the NAB AFL Trade Period doesn't kick off until next week, there are plenty of moves being planned already.

Free agency offers start this Friday but clubs will have to wait until 10am on Monday to actually start making trades.

AFL.com.au's Trade Winds will provide a round-up of the latest action every morning until the end of the Trade Period on Thursday, October 20.

Cloke to kick off trading frenzy

A deal that sends Travis Cloke to the 2016 premiers could happen as soon as next Monday in potentially the first deal of the NAB AFL Trade Period, according to Cloke's father.

David Cloke said he believed Collingwood was willing to accept a fourth-round selection from the Western Bulldogs in this year's NAB AFL Draft in exchange for the key forward.

The Bulldogs hold pick No.59 after their Grand Final triumph over the Sydney Swans, and Cloke is keen to play under a coach "who has confidence in the way he knows he can play".

"They can do with another tall forward up there and to have a coach who has confidence in his player as well will be good for Travis," David Cloke told the Herald Sun.

"He is looking forward to next season and a new opportunity with new thoughts and a coach who has confidence in the way he knows he can play.

"That's what Luke Beveridge shows in his players. He has confidence in Travis and knows him from their time at Collingwood a number of years back.

"Both parties are looking forward to next year even before what happened yesterday."

The Herald Sun reported that Cloke had already returned from holiday and was in his own training program ahead of the Bulldogs' pre-season.

Hawks happy with second-round compensation for Hill

Hawthorn and Fremantle are close to striking a deal for speedster Bradley Hill after the premiership Hawk flew home to Perth last wek for medical tests.

ccording to The West Australian, the Hawks will accept a second-round pick in the NAB AFL Draft for Hill, helping them in their negotiations for Sydney Swans midfielder Tom Mitchell or Gold Coast's Jaeger O'Meara.

Fremantle does not hold a second round pick in this year's draft, but is reportedly confident it will be granted a selection in that range as compensation for losing free agent Chris Mayne.

Mayne, who has been linked to Collingwood and North Melbourne, has reportedly been offered a lucrative four-year deal by a Victorian club.

That could net the Dockers a pick as high as No.22, which would allow them to secure Hill from the Hawks.

WA rivals in three-way swap for McCarthy

How Fremantle lands Greater Western Sydney forward Cam McCarthy is taking shape, with West Coast reportedly linked to the deal in a three-way swap.

The deal, floated between the clubs and reported in The West Australian, would involve Eagles defender Eric Mackenzie joining the Giants.

McCarthy would then go to the Dockers, who would pass on small forward Hayden Ballantyne to West Coast.

However, the Eagles were reported to be reluctant to give up their 2014 club champion Mackenzie at that price.
