The Adelaide Football Club welcomes the decision to ban a spectator who threw an object at Crows players during last night's Showdown.

The Port Adelaide Football Club investigated the actions of one of its Members and found the incident to be racially motivated and therefore a significant breach of the club’s values and spectator code of conduct.

The offender has been banned indefinitely from attending any Power games in the future.

Crows CEO Andrew Fagan said there must be a zero tolerance to racial vilification of any kind.

"There is no place in our game or society for such abhorrent behaviour," Fagan said.

"Our great game brings people together and players, coaches, staff and spectators should be able to enjoy what our clubs and Adelaide Oval has to offer in an environment free of racism and other anti-social actions.

"I would also like to thank Port Adelaide for its prompt and appropriate action regarding this matter."
