Adelaide has dominated the full-forward line in the AFL’s Team of the Week for Round 21.

Gun goalkickers Eddie Betts and Josh Jenkins were both named in this week’s side after the duo combined for 11 goals against Fremantle on Sunday afternoon.

Betts booted a season-best six goals against the Dockers, equal with Sydney Swans forward Lance Franklin as the most by any player of the round. The 29-year-old, who will play his 250th AFL game this weekend in Showdown XLI, also took seven marks, laid five tackles and had 10 score involvements at Domain Stadium on Sunday.

Betts was named in a forward pocket in his fifth Team of the Week appearance of the season.

Fellow sharpshooter Jenkins was selected alongside Betts at full-forward in this week’s team after his own five-goal haul against the Dockers. Jenkins also collected 13 possessions, four marks and had 11 score involvements including three direct score assists in the 72-point win at Domain Stadium.

The performance earned Jenkins his fourth Team of the Week start of 2016.

Betts and Jenkins are Adelaide’s two top goalkickers for the season with 60 and 57 goals respectively to sit fourth and fifth in this year’s Coleman Medal race.

By the numbers: Round 21

Rory Laird was the third and final Crow to be selected, claiming a back pocket in AFL Media’s Team of the Week for Round 21.

Laird was the leading ball-winner on the ground on Sunday with 33 disposals at an elite 85 per cent efficiency. The reliable backman also claimed seven marks, including two intercepts, along with four inside 50ms and four tackles.

The former rookie has been one of the mainstays of the Team of the Week all season. Laird has now earned an incredible 10 Team of the Week starts, including three consecutive selections from the past three rounds.

Sydney led the way with four representatives in the Round 21 Team of the Week. Adelaide and Essendon both had three players included, while Melbourne had two players named in the side.

Rory Sloane (four times), Daniel Talia (three), Tom Lynch, Rory Atkins (twice), Scott Thompson, Brodie Smith, Jake Lever, Brad Crouch and Taylor Walker are the other Crows who have featured in the side throughout the course of the season so far.
