Port Adelaide defender Jackson Trengove has accepted a fine after being cited for striking Crows forward Josh Jenkins in Showdown XXXIX.

The incident occurred during the opening term of Sunday’s clash at Adelaide Oval, with the Match Review Panel deeming the contact intentional with low impact to the body.

Trengove escapes suspension has accepted a reduced financial sanction of $1,000 with an early guilty plea.

In other MRP news, Gold Coast tall Tom Lynch has also been fined $1,000 after he was charged with tripping Giants midfielder Ryan Griffen.

The incident occurred during the third term of the Suns’ clash with GWS at Metricon Stadium. Contact was deemed careless, and of low impact to the body.

Lynch is free to confront the Crows at Adelaide Oval this Saturday afternoon.
