Crows livewire Eddie Betts has been nominated for Mark of the Year.

Betts soared over St Kilda’s Sean Dempster in the goalsquare late in the opening term of Saturday’s clash at Adelaide Oval.

The electrifying small forward, who booted six goals in what was his best return as a Crow, catapulted skyward and held on long enough to claim the mark right on the goal line, bringing the 40,000-strong crowd to its feet.

Essendon forward Joe Daniher and North Melbourne’s Lindsay Thomas are the other Round Seven nominees for Mark of the Year.

Weekly nominees are selected by the AFL Media editorial team and the weekly winners will be determined by public voting. Voting opens 12pm each round the day after the last game and will close the night before commencement of the next round (exact days of the week may change depending on fixture).

At the conclusion of the home and away season, the All-Australian Selection Committee shall select the three best goals and marks from the 23 weekly selections.

The top three selections for the Weet-Bix Mark of the Year and Coates Hire Goal of the Year will be placed on www.afl.com.au on September 14. The overall winners will be selected by public voting which will close on September 24.

The Weet-Bix Mark of the Year and Coates Hire Goal of the Year will be announced prior to the 2015 Toyota AFL Grand Final.
