Dashing defenders Shaun Burgoyne and Rhyce Shaw have been added to Adelaide’s Fan Fantasy team ahead of the side’s clash with North Melbourne.

The pair replaces the injured Sam Mitchell and cash cow Luke McDonald to add some serious scoring power to our Fantasy defence.

With the first bye round of the season upon us, the Fantasy Crows are in decent shape to field a competitive side against the table-topping Kangaroos.

Adelaide will take 13 players into Round Eight while the Kangaroos will field 15 players, with the non-selection of Sydney’s Gary Rohan and Port Adelaide’s Sam Gray also helping our cause.

Don’t be discouraged however, as our team has a good mix of quality uniques including Burgoyne, Matt Suckling, James Aish and Tom Liberatore who could all fire and secure a famous win over the Roos if the Fantasy gods are kind to us. Liberatore’s score in particular will be crucial to our chances, as the young Dog will carry our captaincy for this weekend’s matchup.

North Melbourne will be banking on the performances of Leigh Montagna, Grant Birchall, Jack Gunston and Dayne Zorko as their unique players for the round.

Our team will need a little luck no doubt, but bye rounds are infamous for causing upsets in the world of AFL Fantasy. The Fantasy Crows will hopefully draw inspiration from our real life AFL side from Round Nine last season and pip the Roos at the post this weekend.

View our team below and keep those fingers crossed 19th Man.
