GWS Giants midfielder Toby Greene could play his first AFL game in over seven weeks against Adelaide on Saturday.

In his first outing since serving a club-imposed five-match suspension, Greene amassed 40 possessions and kicked a goal in the Giants’ NEAFL win over the Sydney Swans Reserves at the SCG.

The 20-year-old’s last AFL game was in Round Eight against West Coast at Patersons Stadium.

GWS Giants NEAFL coach Brett Hand said Greene was in the frame to confront the Crows on Saturday afternoon.

“He had a lot of ball in the last quarter but the main thing that stood out was his work-rate and attack around stoppages,” Hand said.

“It’s obviously another level to play AFL but he has put his hand up for selection so we’ll have to wait and see what happens later in the week.”

Jono O’Rourke, Matt Buntine and Lachie Plowman were also impressive and could be in the mix for the Round 16 clash with the Crows.
