It was a double Showdown delight for Crows fans on the weekend as Adelaide’s fan-selected AFL Fantasy team enjoyed a convincing win over the Power.

The Fantasy Crows have now tasted victory on three occasions against Port Adelaide in 2014, with last week’s 2139 to 1836 win confirming Adelaide’s position in third spot on the AFL Fan Fantasy ladder.

Many of our own flew the flag for the Fantasy Crows with Scott Thompson (141), Sam Jacobs (119), Patrick Dangerfield (113) and Rory Sloane (102) amongst our top scorers. Brodie Smith (26) and Matt Jaensch (55) notched unusually low totals in defence, but we will back the duo to respond this week against the Giants.

Suns youngster David Swallow (112) continues to shine and was our only defender to crack the 100-point mark in Round 15. Teammate Jarrod Harbrow (67) was reported in his first game for the Fantasy Crows after replacing Tom Langdon, but luckily escaped with a reprimand and is available for selection.

Our backline has been inconsistent of late, so we need The 19th Man to make a tough coaching call on who we leave on the pine for the upcoming round. Have your say in our voting area below.

The midfield continues to be our strongest line, with Joel Selwood (133) back to his best last week following a lean month for the Geelong skipper. Scott Pendlebury (128) posted an incredible seventh-straight Fantasy ton, while reliable accumulators Dayne Beams (104) and Michael Barlow (96) were also solid.

What more can be said about Fantasy Crows captain Gary Ablett? The dual Brownlow Medallist scored his highest total of the season in Round 15 with a stellar 157-point performance in the wet against Hawthorn.

Our decision to stick with Aaron Sandilands (75) as a starting ruckman cost us some points last week, as in-form Lion Stefan Martin (113) produced his biggest score of the season and his third Fantasy ton on the trot. But there is another way for us to get Martin onto the field.

Use your vote below to decide whether we trade out young Blue Troy Menzel, who is now starting to bleed cash, for West Coast ruckman Scott Lycett. The dual-position Lycett has a break even of just 24 points and could then be swapped onto our ruck bench, which would allow Stefan Martin to start up forward on the field.

It could also be time to downgrade midfielder Mitch Hallahan. The 21-year-old Hawk hasn’t played since Round 11 and we could use the instant cash injection. Mitch Honeychurch and Alex Sexton both played last week and look the most likely replacements.

This week’s opponent is the Brisbane Lions, who are the new Fan Fantasy league leaders after downing the Kangaroos in Round 15 with a mammoth score of 2350.

The Lions defeated us by 101 points last time we met in Round 11. They have swept the competition since to win their past five games in a row. It’s time for the Fantasy Crows to take a big scalp!
