R U OK? Is the question Sam Jacobs wants you to ask.

The Crows ruckman features on the front cover of the 2015 Adelaide edition of the Yellow Pages, asking this very important question.

Jacobs is supporting the national R U OK? Campaign; a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to encouraging Australians to regularly and meaningfully ask anyone struggling with life, “are you ok?”

"Everybody can make a difference by taking the time to ask the question and start a conversation," Jacobs said.

"If you sense someone is doing it tough, reach out to them so they don't feel alone.

"A conversation could change a life. That’s why I’m honoured to support R U OK? on the cover of the Adelaide Yellow Pages.”

For the first time in its 80-plus-year history, the Yellow Pages phone book, which will be delivered to homes across Adelaide this weekend, will also be an awareness raising tool for charity.

When Adelaide residents open the book this year, they will see R U OK’s four step guide to a conversation that could change a life on the inside front cover.

  1. Ask R U OK?
  2. Listen without judgement
  3. Encourage action
  4. Follow up

R U OK? General Manager, Brendan Maher, said he believed the books would serve as a helpful reminder for people to check in with each other all year round.

“Although R U OK? Day is held once a year, asking ‘are you ok?’ is something you can do every day, making the Yellow Pages annual books a perfect platform for raising awareness of this important cause,” Mr Maher said.

The Adelaide Yellow Pages directory will go out to more than 591,000 homes and businesses. For more information about the R U OK? partnership and to explore Yellow Pages please visit yellowpages.com.au.
