The South Australian National Football League's Executive Commissioner Leigh Whicker takes full responsibility for the controversy surrounding the Adelaide Football Club’s plans to honour its heritage by wearing a State style jumper in the Round 2 Showdown.

“I don’t think they (the Crows) have done anything wrong,” he said. “The only decision, as disappointed as they were the Adelaide Football Club, was to reverse the approval and we certainly did that and the AFL never put any pressure on us whatsoever.

“It was the wrong call ... I take full responsibility and the buck stops with me.”

Adelaide Football Club members who purchased the special commemorative jumper for the first AFL game at the redeveloped Adelaide Oval will be refunded. Refunds will transacted automatically to the credit card of purchase within the next two business days.

Members who have paid via another method will be contacted directly to arrange their refund.
