IF CROWS coach Brenton Sanderson is willing to think about playing four forwards 191cm and over against Melbourne, then Tom Lynch isn't about to argue.
The Crows' match committee will have selection headaches that every club wants this week after Taylor Walker put his hand up for a faster than expected AFL recall.
Walker booted 3.3 in his return from a knee reconstruction in the SANFL on Friday night, while Lynch (two goals), James Podsiadly and Josh Jenkins (three each) led the Crows' come-from-behind nine-point win over the Western Bulldogs at Etihad Stadium on Sunday.
Lynch is the smallest of the quartet at 191cm and 87kg, and could give the Crows enough versatility to consider bringing back Walker alongside the other in-form talls.
"Well, if the coach is saying that then I think that will work," Lynch told AFL.com.au.
"I think it's still three talls. I play a bit more of a mid-sized sort of a role. But the boys are in great form and it was great to see the big fella (Walker) back the other night playing.
"I wouldn't say I was surprised because I know how much work he's done and how good a player he is, but he was outstanding the other night.
"He's really given himself the best chance to come back and play some great footy, but we won't put much pressure on 'Tex'."
Jenkins and Podsiadly outmuscled the Bulldogs' forwards on Sunday and Lynch said the feeling among the Crows camp was that the duo were ready to click together.
"We just knew that if we get them in one-on-ones they weren't far off having really big games and that's what they did today," he said.
Lynch was also outstanding against the Dogs, gathering 25 touches and booting 2.1.
The Crows' leading goalkicker last year with 33 majors, he worked tirelessly up and down the field in just his second game back from a dislocated shoulder.
"Personally, it's just good to be back out and playing footy again with the boys," he said.
"It hasn't been the easiest road for me at the start of the year but I'm really pleased that I'm back out there now.
"I'm just looking to have a big second half of the year to help the team in the best way that I can."
The Crows will start strong favourites at home against Melbourne in round seven, and could reach the bye 4-3 after losing their first three matches.
"It wasn't an ideal start, we had expectations to start the year better, but we're slowly chipping away and playing some better footy and some more consistent footy," Lynch said.
"We know it's about us and if we can play four quarters of the style we want to we're going to be hard to beat and win most games."
