Fremantle midfielder Nathan Fyfe is likely to overcome an ankle concern to take his place for the Dockers in Sunday’s clash with Adelaide.

Fyfe injured his right ankle late in the first quarter of Fremantle’s Round 11 match against the Bulldogs. The 22-year-old played out the remainder of the game with his lower leg heavily strapped.

Dockers’ sports science manager Jason Weber said scans had cleared Fyfe of any structural damage.

“Nat’s pretty black and blue this morning and quite swollen but his MRI’s are clear and he is walking around quite comfortably,” Weber said.

“We would expect him to be a test later in the week."

Defender Garrick Ibbotson was a late inclusion for Fremantle last round, and Weber said the 26-year-old looms as a likely starter after donning the green vest against the Bulldogs.

“Ibbo came on and did really well,” Weber said.

It was Ibbotson’s first game back since suffering a shoulder injury in Round Three.

“His shoulder was fantastic, he’s got his strength back and functioning really well.”
